A Sunday Miracle

It's official...the streak is over! The O's beat the Angels 5-2 this afternoon, snapping a 15-game Sunday losing streak.

The Birds snapped a five game losing streak in the process, and starting pitcher Garrett Olson actually made it through six innings...things are looking up!

Backup catcher Guillermo Quiroz went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and the bullpen went three innings allowing just one hit and no runs.

The O's went 4-7 on the home stand, but hopefully this win can build some momentum heading into the road trip...next up: Jeremy Guthrie takes on the Yankees' Mike Mussina in New York...

btw, Sherrill did a great job in his 30th save with three up and three down...you could see the fans' collective breath holding after the second out and then the omg hugh sigh of relief on the third...evidently cigars were handed out for the win as Manager T had one during the press conference...boy, did they need this morale boost...

Nice performance all around by the O's Sunday. Any idea why they discontinued the free tickets promotion? Did the front office know something about yesterday's game that the rest of us didn't?

Spike,
Thanks...I definately forgot to mention Sherrill stepping up and recording his 30th save of the season...the Bedard trade keeps looking better...how 'but that Adam Jones!

feathersforever,
I assume those feathers are orange and black! I have no idea why the O's brass didn't offer fans an incentive to come to the Yard...I can't believe they thought the team had a chance against the best team in baseball, and on a Sunday at that, with Olson on the mound...what a morale boost though! They looked like an entirely different team v. New York.
